‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa’ – Middle East challenge is back and it’s bigger
After a great first season, Zee TV has announced dates for the next installment of the Sa Re Ga Ma Pa – Middle East Challenge. Auditions for the show, which scouts for the best Hindi-singing voice in the region, will soon be held in the UAE, Oman, Bahrain, Qatar and Pakistan as well.
Sa Re Ga Ma Pa has become increasingly popular since its inception in 1995.
Singers such as Sonu Nigam, Shaan, Kunal Ganjawala and Shreya Ghoshal have started their singing careers on the stage of this show and maestros such as Pandit Hari Prasad Chaurasia, Pandit Ravi Shankar, Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma, Ustad Vilayat Khan and Ustad Zakir Hussain have graced it with their presence as judges.
Yogesh Radhakrishnan, MD and CEO, Real Media – Zee Network, says, “Not only is the show popular amongst Asian audiences but even Arabic-speaking audiences have shown tremendous interest. Sa Re Ga Ma Pa – Middle East Challenge is one of our prime properties in terms of local programming here.”
The auditions will be held over a two week period in all five countries and 32 participants will be short listed. The filming of the show will take place mid-January 2007 in Dubai. |
